Hotel Babylon Evaluation (No Print Screens)

Throughout the clip of Hotel Babylon there is a strong theme of ethnicity.
The sound starts very quiet and calm, but as soon as the police are introduced the speed and volume of the booking music increases and its not until the door is shut on the staff that the music calms down but does not stop and is constant throughout.
Camera shots and movement play a big part in this clip the zooming on faces highlights the emotion on the immigrants faces. It also is used to zoom on the managers emotions. During the kitchen scene the camera pans from left to right following the manager through the kitchen, this adds to the pace of the clip which is very fast moving.
The fast pace is also contributed by the editing the transitions are mainly cuts and the clips are only 5 -6 seconds long making the overall clips very fast paced. The effect this has makes it very action packed and allows the audience to know its an action scene.
The clip is set in a hotel which is very formal, when the police walk in the camera goes straight to a black person allowing the audience to tell why the police are there. The police are met by a concierge who is all in white which portrays innocence to the audience, and also is a metaphorical image for the whole hotel.
